Lifelong Republican Greg Lopez has been certified as an independent candidate for governor who will appear on the general election ballot in the November 3, 2026 election, according to a statement from the Colorado Secretary of State’s office released on July 28. Lopez is a former mayor of Parker who became a short-term GOP congressman.
The Aug. 6 cover teaser said: “Former Republican Greg Lopez will appear on the general election ballot as an unaffiliated candidate for Colorado governor. See page 6.”
The printed page 6 package identified Lopez alongside other political figures pictured in the same layout, including Clifton Brown, U.S. Rep. Jeff Crank, and Jessica Killin. Those names appear as print photo identifications in the Issuu page extract; this draft does not invent additional biography for them.
