Greenwood Village celebrates Mayor Lantz as Villager Man of the Year

Greenwood Village marked a newspaper honor as city news. On Feb. 27, 2026, the city’s newsflash desk published a notice that Mayor George Lantz had been named The Villager’s Man of the Year, pointing residents to a feature that ran in the Jan. 28 edition of the paper.
The city described the selection as recognition of Lantz’s “extraordinary leadership, vision, and unwavering service to Greenwood Village over more than three decades,” and said the honor underscored his “steadfast commitment to enhancing the City’s exceptional quality of life.”
Lantz, quoted in the city’s post, tied the recognition back to residence and colleagues:
“My family and I have called this city home for over 36 years, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to a place that has given me so much. Greenwood Village is truly special. I am honored to serve with City Council, our dedicated board and commission members, and hardworking city staff, all of whom contribute every day to making our community a wonderful place to live, work, and visit.”
The city’s item invited residents to congratulate Lantz and to read the Man of the Year feature on The Villager’s website.
